Turkey Ammo?

Just wondering what some of you other people use for ammo on the end of your arrow. Has anyone ever tried a Kondor tip for shooting at the stretch necks. I know probably most use a BH, but let me in on the latest and greatest. ( if there is any ) Kondor would be for shooting at the neck of coarse.

I'll be using VPA 3-blade, 150 grain broadheads this season. I am going for the traditional body shot. I have no business trying to aim for the neck!

Have always gone with and had great luck with Snuffers. Once, inadvertently, hit a bird in the neck and he ran out of sight. Left a blood trail better than some deer sign I've followed.

It's going to be either 125 or 145 grain Snuffers for me this year,depending on which bow I'm using.

I normally use the German Kinetic 1 7/8" head for turkeys. This year I am going to try the magnus bullhead and see if I can lop ones head off!

If I decide I don't like the bullheads, I will go back to the GK's and use a string tracker too.

The only spring gobbler I've killed w/trad bow was with a Magnus I (1 1/2") which severed the base of the neck in two...the bird never moved. This year I'll be using a Simmon's Tree Shark @ 2" wide. If I wasn't using the Simmons I'd elect to use a 160 gr. Snuffer.

I'm of the opinion that more is better for birds, as penetration likely is not an issue with COC heads.

Don't hear much about this on here, but I find the 100 grain magnus bullheads will shoot pretty darn well out of a well tuned trad bow.
I use my deer setup personally but if you're looking for some theatrics, maybe they're the ticket

Thanks everyone, but what do you think of the Kondor idea. The Kondor is the big brother to the Judo point. Same thing only longer wires. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried shooting a Turkey in the head or neck with one.

Personally, I feel like I owe it to a turkey to shoot him with something sharp. I'd prefer a shot in the boiler room with a sharp broadhead, possibly a head/neck shot with a Bullhead or guillotine type head, but I'm not in favor of clubbing them to death with a stiff wire. I just see too many ways that could go south, for me at least.

That's the response I thought I would get. Just was curious as to the Idea. The guillotine Idea sounds doable however.Personally, I will stick to my BH's.

The one you and the bow are most accurate with.I would rather shoot one with a 1-1/8th" VPA and hit him good than with a 2" Shark and have it plane or miss the vital by 3"s. I have killed them Zwickey 2 blades and some big 160 grain Snuffers and even a few with Steel force. Shawn

I agree 100% Shawn, Hitting any Game in the vitals is never secondary to the weapon used. We owe it to the animals we hunt to dispatch them as quickly and as humanly as possible. We all make bad shots once in a while, but that should not be our aim. Efficient aiming should be.
