Been considering a new Shrew Hill LB. Is there anyone on this site that owns and shoots one? I guess I want to know what you feel/think about them......Is it your "go to" bow? I know Gregg Coffey does very good work. I need some knowledge about these bows.  Thanks, Horserod

Everything that I have heard about them is positive.  But Shrew bows is not taking any orders right now.  Gregg went out on his own from what I understand.  You will have to look on the used market.

Hermon is right, you can't get one any more since Ron LaClair and Gregg have parted ways. Ron's web site says he is not taking any bow orders.  I don't know if he will be working with another bowyer any time soon or not.   Now Gregg might make you a similar bow but it won't of course be called a ShrewHill. I own the first ShrewHill made--#1.  It is a fine little bow, but I prefer my Northern Mist and Hill bows a bit more.  In my experience, noone makes a finer Hill style longbow than Steve Turay at Northern Mist.  Admittedly there are still a couple I have not shot (being a lefty sure limits the bows you have the chance to try    :(   ) but they will have to go some to beat my NM Classic and Shelton.

I have a Shrew Hill and a Northern Mist Classic, Both are excellent bows, I prefer them over HHA Hills because of the smaller tips which I think helps the limb recover faster. Comparing both the NM has a larger riser than the Shrew and the NM has a bit more back set. As far as shooting them, they both shoot the same or better yet I shoot both of them the same. Great bows. If I had the extra cash I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one but I give a slight edge to Northern Mist on finish quality and exceptional service.

Those shrew hills look nice.I had a wesley. Special that I liked had to sell I switched to southpaw.I have a vixen made by jd berry. Super smooth with no handshock. Now the hhill bows do not have what I would call handshock. But there is that bump at the end. With the vixen nothing. Small tips and tight glue lines altogether a top of the line d bow.
