I have a chance to buy one in very good condition .(One owner , little hunting ). Any one know what a fair price would be ? 64 inches, #55, serial A,DX163 . I think its a right handed 1957.Original owner says its a 1952 or 1955 . No coin , Leather riser wrap . Thanks for any help.
                 
 
   
   
Thanks for all the interest and help . I already figured this was a bow I could not live without.

As with most collectible, condition pretty much dictates price. It is in a desirable weight and "very good" which means it is primarily a shooter.  I am sure there are others more knowledgeable than I about this bow, but have seen similar ones go in the $150-250 range.

Thanks Blackhawk , The price I can get it for is $200 , which is around the right price I guess.

I suspect that is a bow with dark brown glass and it is one of THE best shooters of that era. However some had problems with glass fraying and coming apart. Look for lots of white specs and rice grains especially on the back of the bow. If you don't have those buy it immediately! If they are there look at them closely and if you shoot the bow look them over every session. See any changes--better hang it up. A 1957 in that weight
is a very desireable weapon and a smooth quiet shooter.

The bow can't be a 1952 as it has Canada 1953 on it which is the year the cCandian patent was applied for. If the pics are of the actual bow you're looking at I'd say the mopst the bow would bring on the notorious auction website is $225.
I'm not saying that is what it's worth or if it's a fair price.Anything under that price would be fair in my opinion something between 150 and 210. Above that is because collectors are keen and have worked recent overtime.

I payed $165 delivered for one just like it, said to be in "EXCELLENT CONDITION", it came with a missing tip and a splinter on the upper limb.

If its as nice as it looks I'd say you did good for $200.    

I got my '57 for $215 shipped and insured, so $200 seems a fair price for that bow (looks to be in top condition).

If you ever feel like swapping it for a 60" in like condition, let me know     At my draw (around 30") the 60" gets a little uncomfortable after a day of shooting.

That's in much better shape than mine $200 is a good price for one like that. imo

btw I only paid $60 for mine with a dozen poc arrows tipped with green razorheads, and 5 green painted practice arrows, but I bought it from my father-in-law in 93.

Thanks alot for all the help guys . I figured this one was too good to pass up . I have'nt even seen it yet ,but the check is in the mail . Original owner even has a photo of a huge moose he took with it back in 1957 . I will let you all know what it shoots like later.
