Anyone from around these areas?  What is the country like and how is the Hunting around these parts of the country?

I hunt about 65 miles from Brownwood. Lots of mesquite trees, cactus, good whitetails, hogs and an assortment of other critters. Usually pretty flat unless there's a creek or maybe some small rolling hills. Still hot in October when bowhunting season starts.  Lots of rattlesnakes, black widows...

Brownwood is great. Lots of good hunting in the area.

I'd love to have a place out by brownwood.  Maybe TxAg and I will get in on a place with you:)

Would love a place in Brownwood area.  I think Coleman is the best.

Yes, it can be a little tough to find spots.... Lots of leasing in TX

Brownwood is a nice town and I would have zero issues living there.  Lots of animals to hunt.  Never been to Nevada, MO, it may be great.  A lot of MO is.

Nevada Mo. Has lots of potential.
Just north and west is Schell-Osage wildlife area.
This is mostly goose and duck hunting but a portion is bowhunting only and has a good reputation .
I've only been there one day so far but plan to go back.

Lot of farm ground,in the area.  Should be,some good prospects for private land hunting.

I need to add in Brownwood most likely you will need to lease a place to hunt, same for the rest of TX.  In that area figure $1300-$2300/yr for a year round lease.  Good news is there are lots of deer, turkey, dove, etc. and you are on a private lease where you and the people you hunt with can manage the game, make your own lease rules, no public hunting pressure, and so on.  Brown County is a 5 deer (2 bucks/3doe) county.  It is also a 4 turkey county.  There is a lot of wildlife in Brown Cty.  I hunt one county to the South in McCulloch Cty.  I pass thru Brownwood to get there.  If you like to hunt and see a lot of deer Brownwood is a great place.  Once you get to brown county and go south to Mexico there are crazy amounts of deer and other wildlife.  Once you start going a little further south it's like there are deer in every bush.
