Just wondering who'se getting out Saturday in Jersey.Where are you going? As far as I'm concerned this is the real opening day.I can't wait. I'll be back hunting the "Old Stomping Grounds".

Well here's the scoop.Bucky and I were settled in nice and early about 80 yards apart.About a half hour later two hunters started coming up my bright eyes trail. Not the first time that's happened welcome to hunting Jersey.Anyway around 9:00 I hear something coming up behind me .I'm in an oak surrounded by a pine tree.I look down and see two cubs under my tree and here comes MAMA . She parks herself 5 yards away and watches the kids play for about 10 minutes . She looks up at me we make eye contact no teeth popping just gets up and walks away kiddies follow. Bucky came over about 11:00 he saw three [no shots]and the bears . Bad wind in the morning and full moon.First time this spot let me down on opening day.Just maybe there will be more bear than deer in Jersey the way things are going.

Didn't make it out today due to all day soccer with my daughters.  Plenty of season to get it done though.  

I should add at the end of the morning I tried drawing my bow back. I couldn't do it my arm and shoulder have been giving me a problem . I packed up and ended up going home.

I didn't get out this morning but Andrew and I gave it a whirl this afternoon. We went up to the spot where we scouted and found that nice oak blow down. We stayed till Andrew tells me he needs to "go" if ya know what I'm talking about. His medication kicked in. Not his fault. We pulled out of the woods at about 6:30. Didn't see any deer moving but we did see some new rubs. I think I'm gonna try this area again during the week and bring in my climber. On the plus side I didn't see any other hunters in that area but we saw 2 trucks parked at that other spot by the horse farm. Want to go?

I got a shot at a 7-8 pointer and it was just under him... Well I'll be out Monday...

Good morning folks! Larry where were the rubs by all the "root beer trees" where I started that one? We all miss guys, we just have to focus and pick a spot don't snap shoot!At least Sal and MCS had a shot!
