I have about $250 to spend on a new 3 piece take-down.. 45-50#
Any great manufactures i should check out?
Whats the best out there for the price?

Lots of great ones for sure but  for that price a NEW take down wont be easy. Martin makes some cheap ones samick but depends on your need and use.  With all the available great bows out there I would suggest saving up some more while you try out various one at shoots and events.  Also maybe  consider used as an option. Good luck

Have you used Samick?  Just looking at the Samick RedStag..  Any insight on a good model?

I have a Samick with two sets of limbs that I picked up for under $200. Pretty good little bow for the money. Also check the classifieds here as well, you never know what little gems are hiding in the classifieds till you look.

That's almost enough for a deposit on a custom bow.   :)

The Whittler

Don't overlook the classifieds. Nothing wrong with 2nd hand.

That about covers the cost of materials and shipping for most custom bows, the bowyers labor, overhead and profit needs added it that.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I only get so much of my own money back as an allowance, wives are the same all-over (with their new shoes)  lol. but i love her.

Samick or Greatree, you won't be dissapointed with either.

I've got a three piece Samick Red Stag takedown that I really like. Not my first bow but my first takedown. No stack, Smooth, no stock. A little noisy but a couple wool whiskers fixed that. Oh BTW 50# @ 28. I pull 28 1/2"

Roadkill

We sell lots of them and I check them for defects when taken from the boxes.  Great bows with attention to detail in worksmanship for the money

I would go with the classified, wait a few more weeks to have a bit more... and buy a great bow, for a deal from the classified!!
Just my 2 cents

SportHunter

Buy a used Bob Lee TD for $300-400 and you'll have a very fine bow that would be hard to match.
