I've been looking for a piece of history and finally found one. I have it posted on the collectable forum. A beautiful bow and shoots as good as it looks. Any Hi-Speed owners that would like to share pictures and or any info about there bows would be appreciated.

Nice bow doubleo,hard to find one that does not need a little TLC.

Here's one I am refinishing and a replica I made which is waiting for the final matte coat.

It had four holes to fill.One will be covered with a small piece of antler,the one next to it filled with a cocobolo plug.

Two holes on the back filled with blk glass on a wood plug.I think once the finish goes on they will blend in.

Serial number etc.I guess it might be a 1963 model.

The wood is outstanding like many made in that era.

The original is a 58" model and I had to take twist out of both limbs.Mine is a 54" about 47#@28".

I have another 1964 that was in need of a refinish. I have it sanded down, new decal but haven't gotten around to spraying it yet. Hopefully it will look as nice as that original when it's finished.

JACK !!! That is absolutely gorgeous, What did you use for the finish spray on the Hi Gloss bow? My guess is Fuller Plast. God bless, Steve

Jack,you have done a stunning job on that one,too bad it is a RH,I have a pair of 58"one must be a 61 in original condition and the other is been refinished by Rich,1972.I really would like to find a 64-65.

Ive got one thats 45# @28 and its awesome bow was my first recurve. I got stupid and thought it was to shiny so I painted it camo. Didnt like it so I took it off and ruined the finish  :(  I need to get it redone it really took the beauty away!

I LOVE HOWATT Bows,I have an early 54" high speed with solid riser 55# as well as 58" DIABLO (not Super Diablo) that is my favorite old school bow.
 I just acquired a very COOL large photo of Damon Howatt himself standing with hunting partner with 2 dandy mulie bucks hanging from tree as well as DAMON HOWATT authorized metal sign that hung in Glenn St.Charles Northwest Archery for many years.
Howatt bows are sleepers and I scratch my head sometimes wondering why guys have no interest in them !!!  Big mistake :-)

Tom, Would love to see some pics of your bows and Mr. Howatt. Howatt bows are shooters.

I agree with everything mentioned about the Howatt bows, even the low end bows are great shooters!
