Hello all...

New to this forum, but I've been shooting bows for many years. Well, I should say I've been shooting A bow for many years... A Damon Howatt Hunter that I love to death, and will never part with. I recently purchased a used Hoyt Buffalo, and i have to confess it's taking a little bit to get used to. I think my main issue is the grip. I'm finding it a bit too narrow for comfort, and my question is are there any bolt on alternatives to fatten it up a little, and maybe give it more of an "organic" feel? Or should I just persist, suck it up and get used to it? Opinions welcome....

I couldn't shoot the stock grip that came on the Buffalo so i put a Dorado grip on it. I think the only difference  is it has s more heel, might be a bit thicker. Dont think your gonna find a grip that is close to that Damon unless you make it, i havent heard of any aftermarket for the Buffalo or Dorado.

I built mine up with tennis racket tape. Very comfortable and warm now.

I too did not like the stock grip and changed it out for a Dorado grip and like it much better.  The stock grip is basically a low grip and I prefer more heel as well also I think it is a touch wider as well.  I believe there are some other Hoyt riser grips that will fit the Buffalo riser, maybe a call to Hoyt could answer your questions?
They'll be no quitters till we bag us some critters!

Hoyt makes a high grip. Also most of hoyts new compound grips will fit. Gary

Great suggestions, thank you!  I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has an issue with the feel of this bow.

I like Reddogge's idea of the tape... One of my biggest issues is how cold it feels in my hand. When I hold the Howatt it sort of "disappears" in my hand and it's a little like I don't really think about it. The Hoyt just feels too mechanical, if that makes sense.

I think I'll give the tape a go and failing that, try the Dorado...

Thanks again!
