It does look good, but I really like the checkering Brian does.  Not sure I could cover that up.

Wow, lots of shape and contours in that handle! Good job!

Thank you for all the kind words!

Although I'd really like to shorten the wrap to more match my wrist size I decided not to do a thing.  The neatsfoot oil kept it a beautiful dark brown and it shrank nice and tight.

Very nice....can you described how you clamped it to dry.....I have a similar grip that I want to cover and when I'm doing a dry run it seems like the leather will never conform to the curves in the handle (but it can obviously be done looking at the job you did on yours).

Thanks

Soak the leather until it's dripping.  Pat it dry with a towel and start wrapping it around the handle.  Stretch it where it needs so that it's as smooth as you can make it around the handle.  I used something similar to  these  for clamps although mine have rubber tips rather than plastic.  You should be able to use wooden clothes pins as well.

Thanks Brian.....I do have some spring clamps...so I'll give it a go!
