It's amazing how things work sometimes..
I haven't been close to pigs in quite some time and was able to close the deal yesterday on a small sow..

This evening I was able to get out again for a walk. I left the truck about an hour before dark and covered a batch of country and just before dark ran into a small group of pigs..  I got within 40 yards or so and one of the group picked me off. Didn't spook but sure gave me the once over and wouldn't quit staring in my direction. However, a couple of the others started feeding my way. Sometimes a fella does get lucky !

The little red boar pig just kept coming and eventually passed me at about 20 yards. As he went behind a tree I drew the longbow. When He got in the clear I shot. The hit looked good but he took off and I watched him run maybe 80 yards. I noted the last place I saw him and started that way.  I should have waited a spell.
Anyway, I bumped him and he went another 50 yards. I waited a bit then put a sneak on his last location. As I was closing on him I saw his ears were alert. He stook up and I stuck him again within a couple of inches of the first arrow, that one did the trick almost immediatly..
Meats tended to and it's time for a shower !
