This was my dad's bow, which he bought in the 80s. He was told it was a Red Wing Hunter. Since it's painted flat black, there is no way to know. Has anyone ever seen a shelf like this on a Red Wing Hunter? If it's not a Red Wing Hunter, what is it? Thanks.

POST IMAGES NO WIDER THAN 640!!!!

It's not a Red Wing hunter.  Might be some version of a Wing Thunderbird, but I don't think so.  It looks most like a Bear Black Bear to me, though neither Bear nor Wing cut a rounded shelf like that. Maybe someone went at it with a file.  Thus the black paint.

Could be a red wing hunter. They have enough shelf and grip size to do a little shaping. I have a amf era red wing that I made similar modifications to, plus radiused the shelf and stippled the grip.
What length is this bow?

Looked at it more closely, and some Wing Thunderbirds on the big auction site.  Sure looks like a  Wing Thunderbird.  Wing apparently did cut the shelf rounded like that on a TB. They usually had black phenolic risers.  Of course, this one has been painted.

The grip looks Wing alright but the shelf doesnt.Im stumped.Too square in the shelf. What length is it?Maybe hes right and its some kind of a Red Wing prototype.Sure has a Bob Lee look.
