What would be a comparable replacement in terms of weight and performance? I just got a new Morrison Shawnee and the MFX 500's fly like darts. I have found another dozen but I imagine they will get harder and harder to find since they have been discontinued.. I currently shoot full length with 175 points. My arrow weight with a wrap is 550 grains. I think it has the 50 grain brass HIT insert. It doesn't look like the new axis shafts are as heavy. Thanks for the help!

I used the MFX Classics for three years -- loved them. I've switched to the Axis Trads (Easton's replacment for their Beman MFX) and love them even more.

I don't know how the finish is more durable because it looks and feels the same. But it is more durable. I've been shooting the same six arrows since early December and have busted nocks off but haven't made the first chip in the finish. My MFX shafts were regularly chipped through the finish. These chips didn't hurt anything, just looked worn. I still have a few dozen of the MFX (all are cut to a 27" arrow length for my 26" draw) that I'll reserve I reckon for other than big game hunting.

The Axis Trad weighs just a bit less. My MFX arrow with same set-up weighed 505 grains. My Axis Trad weights 484 grains. Both shoot bullet holes in my paper-tuning set-up and fly great.

I was shooting Beman MFX 500s with 75 gr inserts and 125 gr heads. Although, the dynamic spine won't show the same, I can now shoot  Easton ST Excels with a standard 17-20 gr insert and 175 gr head.  Length is the same on both arrows at 30.5"

The MFX are around 550 gr if I remember correctly ( too lazy to go outside and weigh them) while the Excels are about 490 gr.  

The MFX are tougher and I like them better,  but at half the cost I'm learning to love the Easton Excels.

I also used to shoot the MFX Classics. With 100 grain brass inserts and a broadhead weight of 150g, my finished weight was around 580g.  Now I shoot Easton Axis FMJ 500's with a finished weight of 550g.  Great arrow....infact, I just finished a new dozen for my RER XR yesterday and tried them out today.  Stu's calculator was spot on as they flew absolutely perfect!  My other 2 dozen I shoot out of my Bob Lee Classic T/D which I had also spec'd out using Stu's calculator.

I would use Easton FMJ,they are within a couple tenths of a grain when comparing GPI.

I just bought a dozen Goldtip Kinetics, its a small diameter and has and outsert. Im very impressed so far.

I like the FMJ but had bent a couple after a glancing blow.

My MFX 500s shoot nearly identically from all of my setups as CX 150s. Usually have both in my quiver and will now lean toward CX 150s.

I too have gone over to CE Heritage. The 150's shoot just like the skinny 500's.

I did the same thing. Went to Heritage 250 and now GT 55-75. The GT fly better for me for some reason than the Heritage.   BILL

I guess I'll stick with the MFX Classics. They will probably last me. Still got some of the first Beman ICS's that came out.
