Anyone use one been thinking about adding one to my cold weather gear. How do you like them. I hunt and traverse in some what brushy territory.

Prior to owning a heater body suit I used to take a heavy wool blanket from an army surplus store, cut a two inch slit to run my saftey harness strap through and then drape it around me in the treestand.  To take a shot I'd just shrug it off my shoulders, and because of the strap through it, itwould stay hanging behind me.  Worked pretty well to cut the wind and add some warmth.

I like that Mike, especially since my dad owns an army surplus store....

Teresa Abell is making one, I have sold a couple....they are very handy. I made/used one when I was in the Army, used a wool Army blanket.

I have an alpaca wool poncho that I bought from an old man on the side of a mountain road in Peru.  I take it with me every year to elk camp in Colorado and occasionally to javelina camp in Arizona.  I've never actually worn the poncho hunting, but every year I forget a pillow so I roll up the poncho and use it instead.  So far it has not let me down.

I have one of Teresa Asbells ponchos and I really like it especially for the cost.  It is just the right weight wool for the majority of the hunting I do and when combined with a windproof type shell it is extremely comfortable even when the cold winds kick up.

I really like the looks of Teresa Asbell's hooded ponchos.  I'm going to need one soon.
