I just picked up a Legacy Longbow from James Kerr here on tradgang and have been out shooting it quite a bit.  My groups are good so I can't complain that its the bow, the thing can flat shoot an arrow.  But for the life of me I can not get them down about 6" and to the right 3-4".  Im looking at where I want to hit and consistently grouping upper left of that spot.  Is there a hitch in my form, is there a tuning issue?  Any advice.  Its driving me nuts.

Guessing the nock is a little low and arrows a little stiff. Work the nock first, then see what happens.  If it is low and hitting the shelf, anything can happen.

Move your nock up slightly and use a softer rest. once that is in then try a softer and thinner side plate and/or add more tip weight.

Alittle more info like what arrow,poundage of bow,longbow or recurve,draw length.But I would guess like bowless nock alittle low and spine too stiff without knowing more.

Also a possibility....upon relesase you may be releasing the string and your string hand is pulling slightly away (outward) and downward (if RH). If arrow flight looks smooth and without porpoising or wobble your release may be a contributing factor. Don't ask me how I know this.....   :rolleyes:

I would guess you are leaning back at fulldraw.Purposely slightly lean foward to anchor and thru your release.I bet you the high and left will go away(if you are a righthand shooter).

All of the above and you might want to apply more pressure, on the string, with your top finger and less with the other two...particularly if shooting split fingers.

Lower your brace hight a little at a time until your arrows come to center.

I would say retune. Take a bare shaft and see what it does in flight.  if it kicks to the right its to stiff, to the left to weak. Start with the nock point a little high as well to make sure the back of the arrow doesnt hit the shelf. Get the arrow flying as good as you can then shoot a fletched arrow through paper at 6' and see what it does (make sure your form is good and your drawing to the same spot every time).  

This is how I tune my bows and the always hit where I want them to and shoots both broadheads and field tips great.

try a more open stance. that helped me with the same problem

when I shoot left I catch myself picking my head up,and not staying in the shot.

Try canting the bow a little more. It works for me.

Ive gone back to the board and tried a couple different shafts.  I went from the Beman ICS 300 to the 400.  Both shafts at full length.  The bow is 55 @ 28 and I am pulling it to the 30".  So looking at about 60#ish.  The 400's were to weak with the 100gr brass insert and the 200 grain field point.  The 300's seemed to fly the best and were hitting with the fletched arrows so I don't think its the tuning of the bow.  I do feel myself plucking at the string a bit and need to work on that.  I have also noticed that when I am high, I dont seem to be following through.  Ill open up the stance and lean forward a hair to try and get myself to follow through.
