Hey Gang,
I've been asked a few times about how I prefer to sleeve my carbon arrows.  I finally got around to putting together a quick video.

Here's the link to the video.  Just click on the link, then click on the video entitled "Sleeving Carbon Arrows"

If that link doesn't work.  Try this one.

Hey bud, good stuff!  I have a hard time finding 24hr epoxy, so I use JB Weld.

I've also gone to glue in nock adapters to keep the back end of my carbons from cracking. Makes for a very tuff back end of the arrow. I've never had any damage since I started using them and glue on nocks.  On an extremely hard impact, I will blow the nock off, but just glue another on the adapter.
But they add expense and are getting hard to find.....I'm gonna have to try the short sleeve on the back.

I also need to get one of those de-burring tools!

Nice video as always

Good video.  I do it the same expect I bevel both ends of the sleve and I use Gorilla Glue.  It expands as it dries and fills in any gaps between the shaft and sleve.  And you don't have to worry about mixing it.  Great job on the video!

Thanks Gang!

Sweet arrows Bldtrailer!

Thanks for the added input bro!

RM81, thanks for the suggestion on Gorilla Glue.  It's always nice to hear what everyone's using.

Good videos! Does this change the spine of the arrow at all or if it does is it enough to worry about?

Ryan Sanpei

Alexander, for the size sleeves that I use, it doesn't affect the spine enough for me to tell.

Added weight to the front or end of a shaft can change the spine, but because the end sleeve is only a few grains and the front sleeve is only 10 grains, this specific set up doesn't change my tuning.  With that said, I will still tune with all the components added to my arrow.

Hope that helps.  Let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks Ryan,I've been thinking about doing this for some time and then saw your videos and thought I would give it a try. I found a bunch of arrows I used to shoot when I was a kid at my dad's so I'll sort through them and see if I can find anything I can use.

Am I the only one that gets a "Gallery not found"
message?
