C'mon guys..... Where's Jon....? Let's see some pics of some Habu's...!!

Here's a bow I got in a trade- it's a nice shooter...

Guss I'm at work right now so can't do pics at the moment. But I'm very partial to Habus both the Vyperkahn and the old recurves.  I also like Black Widows especially the MA series. There are also some other bows in this thread that look interesting to me. I like bows with the limbs mounted on the belly. The reason is I prefer the higher brace height. I have heard that this robs the bows performance due to a shorter power stroke but it does not bother me. I'm not into speed as much as I am into stability and "shootability"  I like a higher brace height for better string clearance. Especially on a cold November day when I am bundled up in a treestand. I have also heard that bows with the limbs mounted on the belly may be more forgiving.  I have a maccaser Ebony Habu recurve that I love due to the mass weight. The mass weight helps my shooting. If I were to flinch before release or jerk my bow arm the effects are minimized because it takes more effort to move a bow with heavy mass weight. The other reason I like Habu bows is the grip and I have a slight preference for the grip on the Viperkahn. It has a very narrow throat which seems to minimize hand contact with the bow and helps me to minimize torque.   To be fair though there are a lot of bows out there that I have never tried. For the most part when I do try a different bow I don't like it as much. I've had a number of other bows but normally end up selling them and going back to my trusty Habus. There is no one "best" bow out there. If there were we would all be shooting it. It is a very personal thing I believe.

Here is a not so great picture of my ebony Habu recurve. I have taken the majority of my animals with this bow including the buck in my Avitar. Chris Cox apparently did not make too many that look like this. It is Macassar Ebony riser. Bamboo limbs with bocote veneers. She draws 52.5 lbs. at 28 inches. I lovingly call this bow "Big Bertha".

Here is another not so great pic of "Big Bertha" in action. But at least you can kinda see the limb veneers.

I have two BW bows. Don't have a pic of my pretty 3D Zircote/Splated Myrtle bow but I do have a pic of my PSA3 with boo limbs and no white lams that I hunt with.



Took this pic up in Alaska while on a Caribou hunt. The next day I shot a bull at 25 yards right in the heart. I love the durability of my bow and I have shot a number of critters with it since 2006 when I first got it.

This is a pic of my Habu Vyperkahn the day I got it. This bow is actually better looking now because bocote wood darkens with age. This is one of the triple carbon longbow versions and is still a little "green". Other than a few squirrels the only thing I have taken with this bow so far is a spring turkey. I did mmmmiiiissss a deer with it this fall though. I intend to take a lot of critters with this one in the future. I have not yet named this new bow.

Can't really see the bow but I used "Big Bertha" my habu recurve to take down a buck I named "Catfish Hunter" seven years or so ago.
