Habu carbon longbow.Been shooting this bow for 4 years now and have had several other bows in that time and I'm always surprised how well designed the Habu is in comparison.

OK, I'll bite. Here's one my friend Cory "Heartlandbowyer" made for me last month. 62"  55@28 padauk and black palm. It points real well and really spits an arrow. Dave

Fantastic design!  I love rear mounted limbs myself. This one reminds me of the black swan hybrid but better since its wood.

I've never understood the rear mounting, just looks so... Clunky. But if you're into that sort of thing the guy who makes eagle wings seems to be right up there with TIM Mullins in terms of craftsmanship and looks. (I like his traditional ones better though  

Rear mounted for take downs puts the grip forward of the limb fades similar to forward handle one piece bows. In theory it should improve forgiveness and promote better limbs to string angle at a given brace height. Though i am not a bowyer or an expert ob this. The fastest production bow I believe is Back Swan and it's rear mounted.

another Hill Country Bobcat here.  This one is named Coco Loco.  I believe forward riser bows are more forgiving and stable.

Habu Vyperkahn, Hill country Bobcat and Eagle Wing Talon - all Excellent belly mount bows!!!  They are by far the best i have found.

Of all the rear mount bows I've handled, i never really appreciated any of them until this one arrived on my door step. This is an Eagle Wing Tallon II with all the bells and whistles...

The craftsmanship alone was enough to make me set down and hold it in my hands like a new born child.
Amazing.... Simply amazing...

After putting it together, and getting her strung.... The feel of my hand sliding into the grip as i put a bit of tension on the string, was a perfect match to my wrist rotation and palm swell, and the balance of this riser was unlike any other belly mount riser I've ever held.

The draw was butter smooth all the way to anchor, and the pressure point on the grip felt like it was sculptured to my hand. most likely because it was....The way this bow shoots is flat out incredible..... Absolutely dead in the hand. excellent flat trajectory that shoots right where you are looking, and hard hitting.....

I think what i appreciate most about Steve's beautiful bows is the heart and soul he puts into every one of them..... When you put one of these in your hands you can feel the passion the man has for his trade, only to be exceeded by his passion for the Lord.

What ....no Black Widows  

Here are a couple pictures of a Habu Vyperkahn (recurve). It is cocobolo. I sold this one and replaced with a Bocote version last January.

Roy, that Habu is absolutely one of the finest bows that I have had the pleasure of shooting!

I would love to own another one some day!
