I am heartbroke that Jerry Brumm is no longer offering the "Critter Gitter" Longbow in his lineup...maybe IF WE ALL STICK TOGETHER, he will reconsider and offer them to his LOYAL CUSTOMER'S once again...who is with me ?

LongStick64

I'm with you on that Tradcat. I've tried the Bushbow, Ghost and Super Ghost but the Critter Gitter is awesome. I picked one up made of Walnut and it is a beautiful bow. Long Live the Critter Gitter.

I know that this would be a question for Jerry, but I heard that he quit making the Critter Gitter because they were harder to make than his other bows.  What makes them harder to make than any other R/D longbow?

fishone

I have a Critter Gitter and a Bushbow. I like them both but I like the Criter Gitter the best.

Steelhead

I too am a big fan of the Critter Gitter.
I think the tapering of all the lams makes it more difficult and or time consuming to build.

To make this thread worth more, you guys should add some pictures of the CG... Even better, picture of the CG with critters taken with it!!
Just saying.

Horserod

I firmly believe that Jerry felt the new Lil' Creep he developed was a better bow than the CG. The CG was for bow lengths from 62"-70".  The CG Special was made in 56"-60" lengths.  The Lil' Creep is a 58" bow with thinner limbs at the nock ends and also has the "power wedges" which, if I remember correctly, the CG's didn't.  I'll have to ask him about that the next time we talk.  I love my Great Northern's.    :D    Horserod

Tradcat

Hey Horserod...when you talk to Jerry, tell him I'd buy one RIGHT NOW if he'd start making them again. The Critter Gitter is more of a true mild R/D Longbow with narrow, and deeper core limbs whereas the Bushbow is designed more like a Flatbow...both are great shooters but I know a lot of people that prefer the Critter Gitter

I ani'nt own one but I only considered the Critter Gitter.Too bad it isn't anymore in production.

Here's my critter gitter.  I have a lil creep too.  Both are nice bows but they definitely do shoot differently.

I've had several over the years, but foolishly let them slip through my hands.  Have been looking for just the right 64-incher for a couple of years now.  They just don't become available very often. I'd get a new one if they were offered.

Hawk22 can you please elaborate on the difference of the lil creep and cg?? great looking bow by the way.

pdk25

Osage lams and bloodwood riser and tips.  68#@29". 62" long.

It's the top bow.  Just wanted a full braced pic.

Oh my.Thats a pretty one.Osage and Padauk?

One of favorite bows I've ever owned was a CG Jack Knife with a Diamondback Skin The riser was dark Rosewood and the limds were dark hickory. That was back in my right handed days. It really hurt to part with that one. Definite shooter!

Maybe if you put together a group of 10-15 folks that truly want the bow, and are willing to pay either all or at least a substantial deposit up front, you could talk him into doing a limited run. You never know. $$$ TALKS!!

My critter gitter is smoother and quieter than my lil' creep.  The lil creep is a few (7-10fps) faster.  Both are identical in weight at 53#'s@28".   They both can send an arrow through a deer too.  I like the lil creep as a hunting bow and I'll hunt with the critter gitter as well as shoot 3d with it.
