Ray, Here are some pics of some that I own/have owned. With the correct string/silencer combo they are as quiet as any recurve out there.   :archer:

Spurs

I loved the mass weight of mine.  I shoot most all widows.  I got rid of the psa only because I went to the 54"pch.  My psa was 60"it was very smooth, so smooth it was too smooth for me.  Yes I like a sharper string angle and a little more harsh drawing bow.

I have no pics, but it was a kingwood.  All widows that I have owned are louder than just about any other bow on the market.  Not much but a little.  The one piece widows are silent.  From now on other than my turkey bow, I will be going to widow one piece pa, pch etc.  My opinion, but I will not be getting rid of my pch 54".  They are quiet enough to get the job done, just not as quiet as others.  That's probly the best way to put it.

Note: I have shot just about every bow out there and continue coming back to the widows.  I love em.  I own all widows, and one Morrison at this point.

Great bows. I have a slight preference for the MA model. Especially one made out of something heavy like ebony. For me the more mass weight the better. Helps my shooting.

Spurs

wow!!

A.S. is that bow on the wood pile tyger myrtle and zircote?  Man I would be begging at your feet for that one if the shelf wasn't backwards.  Awesome bows.

Own one, trying to get number two. Best recurves  IMO are BW and bear takedowns. Some have been a little loud but not bad. I emptied a quiver at the same buck. He barely moved after 3 shots.

Yep Spurs, that is my current bow. Ziricote and Tiger Myrtle. The Widow boys sure know how to put together a great bow!

Also Spurs, just wondering if you have ever tried a string other than the stock Black Widow string?

I have found (along with many of my string customers) that a skinny string along with the proper silencers makes a big difference in the noise level.

I have had and have a bunch of widows.  That said I like the looks of the one pieces better.  My favorite bows are the PA KB and the Pch.  With  a good string and a 10gpp arrow they are dead silent.  They are the best recurves made IMO.   Easy to tune, forgiving, and shoot where u look.

I would recommend the try before you buy on this bow. I bought one new and hated everything about it. I couldnt get it quiet no mater what string, how many silencers, or how heavy an arrow I shot. I got lucky and a limb started to delam and BW replaced it with a PSR. The problem could have been with the bottom limb but I have never shot another one so I do not know for sure.

Man o man , that's some nice bows , well I'm looking at ordering 2 in June, thank you for the ideals . I mostly shoot hills and my 16 old won't a new bow for his bear hunt in 3 years . Finshing high school I told him that I would buy him a new bow and take him on a bear hunt . Before football in college , so I wont him to shoot it a couple years before we go .
 Thank you guys

I have tried other strings and silencers.  It makes a huge difference.  They are plenty quiet imo, but there are quieter curves to be had.

On most of the super quiet (other brands) I have tried, that seems to be their best attribute. I think widows are a great balance of speed, forgiveness, weight, and quietness.

I have had just about everyone of the top bowyers recurves of those there are some  faster and quieter but they are not widows.  What I mean by that is I can pick up a widow (even if I have been shooting other bows for months) and it shoots as if I have never set it down. I have seen countless people who have never shot them pick one of mine up and shoot it better than their own bows.  You owe it to yourself to try one.
