Anyone use a young feather burner with cap wraps? I have always used mine but never with wraps. I like to burn feather down to shaft burning quill also then clean up front and back with knife put a dab of glue. If you use cap wraps does the heat hurt them.

I use  wraps and feather burner with no problems   don't let the wire touch the wrap  :campfire:

You can get pretty close, but dont touch and keep it moving!

if you can set your wire to not touch the quill, yer good to go - else you will burn the cap wrap.  after the vanes have been burned, i use an xacto or razor blade to trim off the quill and put a spot of glue.

I slide a short (half inch or so) piece of thin aluminum arrow shafting (sleeve)  over the wrap just behind and ahead of the fletching. That way if you get too close or happen to touch the sleeve it wont burn the wrap. You may have to distort the sleeve a bit to get it over the arrow nock.

I too use a feather burner with wraps, just have to be careful about getting to close. Then I'll trim with an exacto knife and add a spot of glue.
