I'm looking for recommendations for the quietest string you have found for a 64", FF capable Silvertip recurve that's 46#@ 28" and is drawn to my draw length of 29.5".

Also, what do you use for silencers, (spacing and how many.)

Thanks for the responses.

Tim

I prefer to use 12 strands of dyna 97 with 4 extra strands of dacron in the loops.  I also use one set of rubber silencers and pad the limb tips where the string makes contact with black velcro.  This setup has worked for me for years.  I've never been a fan of the white/black strings that come with the bow.  The wax used in the string gets very hard making for a noisey string.

For recurves I have found that a three ply B50 are the quietest strings, I was annoyed by the noise of one my high performance design recurves, everything I bought for it was loud, so I made one out of my old B 50 and bingo.

Buy an SBD string with wool silencers and solve your problem.

I had a 64" Silvertip that was very similar poundage.

I drew the bow 31-1/2" and it was truly whisper quiet with a 15 strand B-50 Dacron string, velcro padding over string grooves, and wooly whispers set at the 1/4 points of the string.

I sold the bow to Big Ed on the borad and have been wanting it back ever since. It was kind of big and heavy and was not the fastest bow but it was quiet and stable. The two most important traits I look for and in that order.

Some bows "like" one material over another, but usually it's a matter of tuning and silencer placement.  I've had no problems with Dynaflight '97, 8125G or 8190 and rubber cat whiskers.  Proper silencer installation and placement, proper nock fit, enough arrow weight, good release, etc. all play a part.

Never had to go to extremes to get a bow quiet.

I shoot dyna 97 flemish strings, made by Janes Vanover from michigan. James has patiently worked with me to get the correct loop sizes and string lengths for Silvertips. He installs the silencer's and my 'Tips are longbow quiet!

i Shoot a 62 inch ST and put one of the Lefties R US skinny strings that they had already installed 4 silencers on it.  Very quiet

On my 60" Silvertip, I use the standard string, bow hush, and wool silencers... my one piece is whisper quiet!!

I'm also interested in this thread, as I shoot a 64" silvertip.

I've been shooting Dacron on my new FF limbs, but I'm thinking about switching to Dynaflight 97.

Whats quietest?

SBD strings are the quietest I have used so far. I had a fairly noisy widow that is whisper quiet now.
