I figured since everyone was about done with their hunting seasons I would finally post of some pictures of my hunting trip to Colorado this year.

You'll notice rather quickly there are NO pictures of elk, on the hoof or on the ground.  Heck, there aren't even any pictures of arrows sticking in the ground.  These are just pictures of some scenery, my bow and arrows, and a few shadowy reminders that I was there.

Despite the lack of cooperative elk, I had a fantastic trip for my first time out west.  Hope you enjoy.

yeah don't worry, there were no elk harmed in any of my pictures this year either, I have good feelings about this coming season though, know right where to be this year, was first year hunting the area this past season, I got some ideas of exactly where I need to be instead of just a general area!

Nice country.  Been in the general area myself.  We usually put in from the Encampment trail head on the Wyoming/Colorado border.  Haven't been there in a few years.  Last time I was, the beetle damage was really starting to show.  Lots of dead trees.  A few of your pix show that as well.  Though they did log some of that stuff and are trying to log more, I'm thinking a lot of it is going to start falling down soon and/or start to catch fire.  That's one of the reasons I've been reluctant to go back. Beautiful country though, even with all the dead trees.

Nice pictures. I think I may see what your elk problems were. The SHADOW figure was noisey and warning the elk.
Some year I need to make the trip.
