I couldn't believe it, but when I thought through it I realized I purchased a dozen Beman MFX 400's when I tuned my recurve in 2008 and have been shooting them ever since. I think 8-10 critters have been killed with those 12. Anyways...

Does anyone have any suggestions on an upgrade in shafting? Or should I stick with these?

Thanks,
MH

I have never used those shafts but I am a firm believer that if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Good luck trying to find them, they are gone. Everyone blew them out about a month or so ago. If you search you may find a few dozen yet. New shafts for beman and easton with the skinny thing

WESTBROOK

Upgrade to what...they're as good as they get IMO!

Shop around for what remains and watch the classified.

Great shafts!!!!!

I think that's my biggest complaint about Carbons.  They are hard to break, dent up, bend, etc.

I really like building arrows, and my MFX 340s and 400s seem indestructible.

My local shop may have some more 400s.  I know they have a bunch of 500s.  Think I should I get them and sell them here?  Not to profit, just to provide them.

Sounds like you are too good of a shot or do not shoot enough!  Either way, good deal!

When I quit shooting about 25-30 years ago, I was using the old orange XX75 Eastons. Now I'm starting up again, I'm going with cedar shafts, speed nocks, crested feathers and a 125 grain field tip. If I was going hunting, I'd use 125 grain two blade Zwickeys. That combination worked so well for me, that I wouldn't think of starting anywhere else. Just me though. Your mileage may vary.

I just picked up two dozen 500's from a sponser going out of business. The price is right.

I'm shooting old style goldtips that my buddy made up in 2005 for a bear hunt.  I thnk he made me 2 1/2 dozen and I have close to 20 that are still going strong.

I haven't bought an arrow since I went to wood in 96. I trade turkey feathers for shafts and buy nocks and points.

I haven't bought a bow for myself since 89. I have bought a few cheap vintage bows to pass on to beginners that are long gone now.

I have made about 150 selfbows so the need to buy myself a bow just isn't there.

BuckeyeGuy

I've been shooting 2216s since '95 and still have 4 or 5 of the original dozen classics from my first dozen.  I did purchase some goldtip blems 5575 here recently and have toyed with them periodically but my aluminums treat me right.

TRAP

wigeon, $100.00/doz, I might be able to get them a little cheaper if I bought 4-5 doz
