Hey Gang, I would like to hear any experiences you've had at Giles Island for deer hunting.  I've seen a few videos now and it looks like they are covered up with big bucks.  Website says it's free range deer.
Thanks
Joe

Are we talking about teh Giles Island in Louisiana?

If so, there are definitely big bucks there.  They are pressured toward the end of the season and success is definitely not gauranteed.  I have buddies that hunt there and it's a BEAUTIFUL place.  No fence.

Yes, that's the place.  Is it all private land?  Do you have to go through the outfitter?

awbowman

Yes as far as I know it's all private.  A large portion is set up for paid hunts and a smaller place is leased.

I'll send you a PM

Don't hunt there, but close to it. I believe it is considered Mississippi. Great place for sure and fair chase. Genetics are some of the very best in the whole southern US. It is also very well managed. Don't know, however, if they will let you hunt un-guided or not.
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

Thanks for the info everyone.  Looking closer at the website at the prices I noticed I was not looking at the prime time rates.  I went from an excited maybe I can... to no way I can...

awbowman

No doubt they are proud of the deer Joe.
