Well, I've been playing with the Garmin 60CSx and.......well, I like it. I havn't taken it down in the dark timber yet, but using this thing is entirely TOO EASY!
I still won't trust my life to something with bateries in it, but it sure is handy.

i have been using my garmin for the past few years and i love it. takes me right to my stand in the pitch dark. it sure is nice having the gps tell you that you have arrived at your way point, flip on your flashlight and your stand is right in front of you.

Mickey, that won't be my choice! I'd rather have a kerosene powered one!

I dunno John, pretty hard to find kerosene these days and it's messy and oily and smelly and billows black smoke if you get the wick too high LOL

The GPS I use operates off AA batteries. I buy coppertop AA batteries by the 16 pack (also use them in my headlamp, frs radio and maglight). When I am getting ready to go into an area I'm not familiar with I throw new batts in the GPS. If I got really desperate I could rob some from the other electronics. Hasn't been a problem yet. A set in the GPS usually lasts me all season.Knock on wood, I don't get lost that often.

Doesn't a pacemaker fail soft -- that is, its failure does not result in [heart] failure; heart reverts to previous electrical variability?

Heck I dunno, I'm not a heart surgeon I'm a sign salesman ha ha. All I know is they take batteries.beside John knows I was just neelin him about his fear of technology (even though the battery has been around pre-fiberglass ha ha)

I liked mine when I first got it.Now a year later I have learned more about what I can use it for and take advantage of more of the features I love it.  

Best thing I have ever bought for hunting that did not have a string hooked to it.  :D

Yeah gotta love the GPS, I have a garmin 60 Cs. at the end of the season I want ot get a 60 Csx.

If you haven't done so already go to  www.jdmcox.com  and download his free shareware program usaphotomap you will be able to upload and download waypoints routes and trails to your gps. Very good program that he continues to improve.
