I am going on my first hunt, we are going pig hunting. What broad head do you guys suggest?
I am using carbon arrows uncut with a 50 gran insert
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..

I like Simmons, but we will have to know more about your set up to tell you what weight head to use.

I am using a 100 gran point, I used the 50 brass insert. The arrows fly great
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..

Lots of todays bowhunters are insecure about penetration. My experience is that it's unfounded with even huge broadheads and fairly light bows.

Make sure it is a design you can make razor sharp, flys without flirt and brings your arrow to proper tune.

If in doubt about your broadhead, get Zwickys and make sure they are sharp.

Unless you have a real long draw and need them uncut, I would do some cutting and up the point weight to give you more optios on heads and a little more arrow weight.  Even just a little stiffer and getting to a 125 head will open up more options.

X2 however if you do have a long draw you might consider the 100 grain VPAs or magnus stingers

They do make a 100grn Snuffer, they are easy to sharpen and will give you a nice hole. And aim small!

The plethora of viable choices today has instead muddied the water. Moderate set-ups with tuned arrows and sharp BH's will foot the bill for most heads. Splitting hair decisions will continue to be driven by what is the rave today, possibly limited experience or what someone may have on hand. Even great BH designs may receive unwarranted criticism due to inadequate shot placement.

Marketing successful ploys may merely be to effectively focus on a possibly unique beneficial feature and let the consumer's mind magnify its benefit a 100 times.

I find Charlie Lamb's response to be on the mark.
