Can any one with a 31 or + draw recommend a bow that doesn't stack? At that length have been through half a dozen bows but all seem to hit the wall around 30 just wanted to see what you all thought?thanks for any info

wingnut

I draw 30 1/2 inches and can put together bows that don't stack for what ever draw length you want.

Just don't ask for a 56" longbow. . LOL

I shoot a 64" Schafer Silvertip recurve and don't notice any stacking at my 31.5" draw. But I've seen other threads on here where people recommend lots of other bows that work well for long draws.

I shoot a Black Widow PMA 64" I draw 31". It draws like butter all the way.

I have a 30" plus draw length. I am willing to bet most if not all of todays top Bowyers could produce a bow fit to your draw length without stacking.

Like wingnut said just don't expect a short bow. A 64" recurve will probably be your shortest recurve bow and 66" recurve would be better. Longbows 66" to 70" would work great.

My 66" Black Widow longbow is smooth out past my 31" draw.  My 64" BW recurve is also nice and smooth to 31".

I was shooting a 64" Bob Lee Classic and it pulls nicely out to 31".  It gets tight right around 31" though, and I wouldn't want to draw much longer with one of those.  Great drawing and shooting bow, though.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

I shoot a 64" Black Widow PMA with my 32.5" draw... and have room to spare.

I've had same problem, trick is it seems to get a bow 62" or longer and one that's rated well below what you want it to be at your draw length when measured at 28". I just got a 64" bow and it seems to be the ticket! I draw 31".

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I have a 62" PSAV that seem to be really smooth to my 31" draw(hight wrist).

Bow man

We have a guy drawing 32"  shooting our 64 bows. Both the recurve and Longbow He loves them.

I also see you are from PA wait to order a bow at Denton hill then you can shoot a bunch of bows from differt bowyers and find what will work best for you. Or contact bowyers that have a test shooting program

If your looking for a shorter bow a 56" shrew classic hunter will handle 31". Gotta look for a used one tho.

Wes Wallace bows....I have several, recurves and his longbows. All but one have bamboo cores, the other is red elm. The red elm core draws very smooth but it also was built to my draw length. Not saying anything negative about bamboo cores as they would probably be my first choice as a  limb core material. Give Wes a call, discuss your problem, I'am confident you will be very satisfied with his bows performance.

I've got a couple of 62" Thunderstick MOAB's and my one piece is Bamboo Core with Bamboo Lams and it is smooth like butter, whisper quite and super fast. Much more so in every aspect then my other MOAB with different woods. It is truly leaps and bounds ahead of anything I've shot when it comes to pure smoothness.

I have a 31" draw. I designed my bows to draw smooth to 31" + because I hate stack. Take a look at our website . If you have any questions I would be glad to answer .

From what you guys are saying guess I should be looking at 64+? Inches

64+ yes but I've found a few shorter that are as good. I used to have a 32 in draw and shot 62 inch bows with the smoothest coming to mind the wing thunderbird 62" and the carrols t/d if you can find one.The carrols was actually 58". Now I'm shooting a 62"Silver tip and Bear t/d with 62" RER limbs and find both very smooth. My draw now has shortened to 30 3/4.
