Getting ready for the Kalamazoo expo and a zipper jacket is high on my shopping list, but I am going to also look at the vests and pull overs.  I am trying to figure out what would be the best all around patter for tree stand hunting in Michigan woods, but also for on the ground in the overgrown fields and the crop field edges I also hunt.   I have been looking at timber ghost, shadow plaid and evening stand. Shadow plaid sure looks like it would be good in a tree after the leaves fall, but timber ghost looks like it would be great on the ground.

I would like some opinions particularly if you have some pic's of these patterns out in the woods or have seen someone with them in cover to see just how well they blend.

In all honesty, I don't think the pattern or color will make much difference to the deer.  I have an older shirt in an extinct pattern and an ESB hooded pullover that I pickup up at the last Kzoo.  Both have hid me well both on the ground and in trees.  I think the Timber Ghost would be great in the trees and the silent stalkers and Little Delta should really blend in with the fall leaves.  Pick the one you like, they all work and the shirt is great.

My next one will be timber ghost. The evening stand green worked well for me this season, though! Hunted exclusively from the ground...next year, will have some stands up!

As stated all the plaids are great, I have the Evening Stand Brown, I hunt on the ground all the time blends in well in most terrains! I too will be at the the Asbell booth in Kazoo, want a zip jacket in Cedar Swamp plaid and maybe a Timber Ghost for late season when we have some snow!

Okay got to be more people out there with these patterns that have some input.

I know deer don't see color per say, but other critters I hunt do see color like turkey and waterfowl.  And, I don't care to have people pick me out all that much most times.  So to me color blend is a factor.

I have 4 of Teresa's wool pieces. Two, one hooded vest and one zippered jacket are in the Silent Stalker Green. This plaid has worked well for me in the Texas/Oklahoma landscape where you get a lot less green folage. I would think Evening Stand Brown or Green would work well for you in MI. With that said, my next purchase will be in Shadow Plaid. I have an older wool shirt which is similar to Shadow Plaid which I love when hunting either on or off the ground. One thing for sure, you can't go wrong with Teresa's wool products. Buy with confidence.

Don't think it matters.  Just grab what they have in your size that turns you on when your standing there.

I love the evening stand green color.  here in FL it works great for anything from swamp, to live oak woods, to pine/palmetto flat woods in my opinion.

I am a big fan of Evening Stand Green as an "all around pattern"

Add Silent Stalker Green and you have it all covered. If I were only buying a couple garments, they would be a Evening Stand Green Zip Up and a Silent Stalker Green vest (or vica versa).

Roger your ESG looks more brown than mine.

Roger Norris

I think that is just the camera tint/exposure.

Those are great. Thanks for the pics.

I found the other post with a lot of pics that helped. Looks like evening stand green and brown for me, but still would like the see some woods shots of timber ghost.

id agree with Roger, the ESG is a great all around pattern...you could wear it in the open hardwoods early or late season or you could wear it nestled in a cedar. i really liked my montana magic pattern in the minnesota big woods. the good thing about this stuff is it wont break the bank so a guy/gal could own several patterns. ive got a  "killing tree" that is a dark thick spruce, id melt into that tree with the olive drab but i also have a pending date in '13 with hopefully a 170ish whitetail that beds on the edge of some huge aspen so i will likely have to get me some timber ghost for that tree. great product made just for us trad  dudes...

I have the Evening Stand brown and Little Delta. both are great for tree stand hunting in the hardwoods.
