David....I shoot almost anything out of mine, and when I helped Brent build them in MT, we shot what we had, no problem.   I used carbons when I hunted with them, but never had any trouble shooting my woodies from my longbows either.   Make sure you have "enough" fletch, and check your brace height.

I am not one of those arrow guru guys that used formulas and such to find arrows for any of my bows.  I shoot what spine I need, and make sure I have enough feather.  I think a lot of folks tend to overthing this a bit.   2317 seems way too stiff for that poundage of bow....

Yeah im thinking 2018 or maybe even 2016 would be a better arrow spine for you

Hi guys, I would like to know a bit about your sheep eaters.I picked one up awhile back. Have only shot it a few times because it has a lot of hand shock. Can only shoot it for a short while before my shoulder and arm start to ache. What are you doing for setup. It seems to have alot of nock height. Seems to be very fast, I'm shooting 5575 GTs around 475 grs. Thanks Jim G

I don't have any hand shock or vibration with mine, but then all of my hunting arrows are 600 grains plus.  Still, plenty of arrows in the 500 grain range have went through it without any issues.
What is the brace height?
Poundage?
String material?
Nock height?
How tight are your nocks?
How are you gripping the bow?

Your grip will be different, depending rather it has the straight or pistol type riser.

With any bow, the first thing I do is tune it to where that particular bow performs most smoothly, with the least amount of vibration.

If the problem persists after tuning, try arrows with different spines.  There is the chance the arrow is too stiff and the end is slapping the riser.  If they are flying good, a heavier arrow may help.  I think Brent recommends around 10 grains per pound of draw weight.

If you are unfamiliar with tuning a bow, run a search, there are several good threads that explain on how to do it a lot better than I can.  The best I have found is by OL Adcock,

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
