Here recently Ive been kinda burnt out on deer hunting. At 52 I cant sit as log as I use to.
Also all the hype about deer I guess has turned me off a little.
Im seriously thinking of small gaming only next year.
Maybe 1-2 weeks of deer but the rest squirrel and rabbit.
Ive found myself happier lately roaming the woods.
Just wondering?

I love small game hunting. Dying get me wrong, taking a good sized deer and filing the freezer kicks butt. But the wandering of small game hunting is just fun

I don't  "only" SG hunt but I do love to do it, and do it as often as I can.

Its a lot of fun.

SG is great to improve archery skills no doubt.  I was only able to deerhunt 3 times this season and didn't get anything.  I'm glad I still have the chance to go for SG in the next couple months.

I get burned out on deer hunting as well. I did`nt hunt for near three weeks. I recently got a new stalker longbow and have hunted the last few evenings hoping to shoot a deer before the season goes out I got three more evening hunts then deer season is over.
 I enjoy walking ,stumpshooting and small game hunting with a chance at a porker while doing it. No place to be and no time to be there just easing along having fun.What its all about.RC

I hunt deer but shots are years apart. Small game hunting is so much more fun! If I had to chose it would be bowhunting groundhogs for sure.

I hunt deer religously, and then BANG about mid December I'm done. Thats when I hit the swamps for bunnies.

Yes, the small game is the most fun for me too.  Maybe because I get to take the dog along.

IMO,every archer should SG hunt.This is kinda lost 1st step into bowhunting.I know I wish I had started SG hunting along time ago.If you don't SG hunt,you really should.It helps sooo much w/ your shooting skills.

I recently bought my first recurve for the sole purpose, haven't hunted with it yet but I can't wait to scout deer in the snow for next season and walk up on a nice rabbit. I've never eaten it and I'm dying to taste it
