TRAP

I've been working a little on a bow quiver project and thought I'd share them with you.

3 arrow/2 blade using Selway mounting parts

Sorry about the picture quality.  My wife took my camera on a cruise and my phone is all I have.

here's the first one I put together

and then here's another I put the finishing touches on last night while I watched the Crimson Tide demolish the Irish

the leather I chose is a little soft but I think it's gonna be very functional.  I'll be making another with some top grained veg tanned leather now that the bugs are worked out.

give me your thoughts, Trap

Sweet! How's the weight add opposed to a hooded selway?

I think they look awesome Trap! Let me know if you need a field tester for a long bow model! Lol   :bigsmyl:

NICE LOOKING QUIVER!

Are those the new/old Zwickeys?

Very nice Trap,Roll Tide. They should have had the ducks.

Kyle I think the weight is pretty similar to the rawhide hood.  It's just a lower profile which keeps the hood in close to the bow.  I've always loved Selway quivers but felt the hood stuck out too far and was kinda bulky for me.

The downside is it's just a 3 arrow quiver, but I don't shoot more than that very often when I'm hunting.

So when will these be on the market?    ;)

Thanks guys

John they are the new barbed Zwickeys.  That particular hood was made specifically for them.  The first hood in the first pic will hold pretty much any 2-blade head.

Harold, I agree, the Ducks vs. Tide would have been a better game probably.

Are there rivets protecting the lacing?

Looks like a good quiver. I'd like to make one to hold HH heads. That one you have made looks like it would fit the billing...  :)

They both look very nice!
Didn't realize there were 2 different ones...thought it was just photo quality making them look different.

I like the looks of the second one with the little cut outs. But the top one is probably does the job better as there's more leather.

Really great job either way!      :clapper:

I've been trying to figure out how to make one for 3 blades...without it weighing a ton... and keep the lacing off the blades etc

No plan to market them David.

As far as I know, the guys at Kenati came up with the "stacked 3-arrow/ 2-blade" idea and they deserve credit for it.

And then of course, Selway's excellent mounting system has been copied by many.  The Selway really is a neat quiver.  I used them for years, but had gravitated to side-mounted Great Northerns.  When I bought a couple bows without quiver inserts I started exploring other quiver options and just combined some other's ideas and made my own.

No rivets,  and I realize that could be an issue.  I may have to re-lace at some point.

Little copper rivets used by harness makers can do wonders before any damage is done. Makes them look vintage too.

Get the tiny 1/8" shafted ones or smaller.
