Thank you guys...  actually this is a pretty new thing for me. I have hunted all my life but never had anything mounted. In 2006 my wife asked me why I hadn't and I said that when I was younger it was about feeding kids and the meat was the objective. She said well the kids moved out and the big mule deer (my first over 30's wide, very old buck) in the right corner was the first. I think she may be having regrets now as since then I've gone a bit nuts but my neighbors, kids and my wife and I are still eating pretty well   :)

Hey Kip. Don't suppose you'd want to go back there, huh?

I need to get my knee in a bit better shape and my finances in a whole lot better shape, but I want to go back so badly.

I kept talking about someday going to Africa. My wife said "You're slowly running out of "somedays", why don't you do it now". That was 7 years ago. Took my two sons and all 3 of us talk about doing it again. What a great time with the boys.

Thanks for sharing!  Very nice mounts of beautiful animals.   From the looks of the fishing gear bluegills aren't your main angling quarry!

Thanks Kirk

Ron there really isn't anything else like it. I will go back but it will have to wait a bit. I really want a Bush Pig. Talking with Lammie (my PH) and listening to him it sounds as though they are at the top of his list of favorites, but I'm torn and may do the desert next time or Namibia????????

The savings plan has already started for a ten or 12 day return trip  :)

Thanks guys

nineworlds9 in my wife's defense we live on the ocean and lots and homes here have a tendency to be small or two story (only so much buildable coastline). Our house is small so she is a pretty good sport to ok the use the office as my "Man closet"  She is a realtor and has to use and work in the closet sometimes.  :)

Quote from Howard Hill.( Whenever he taught someone to shoot) "Son make up your mind right now if you want to target shoot or hunt as theres a world of differance between the two"

We had a great trip in SA. The PH couldn't have been a better match for us. He said the only thing he would shoot is a bush pig. If we found one he would like to borrow my rifle (we were hunting plains game so he wasn't carrying a rifle).
He had a very modest but good collection but no bush pig.

He asked right up front what we were looking for. I told him this was our first trip to Africa. We had no trophy collection started that we wanted to fill out and weren't really interested in record book entries. We just didn't want to go home and find our we'd shot a baby. He said "my kind of hunt" and proceeded to bust his butt for us. Wonderful experience.

Steve unless one of my neighbors rent me a room I'm out of expansion room  :)

Ron I really hope I can go back for a longer visit. Like you it was a "Wonderful Experience". There is truly no place like it.
