Does anyone know anything about these bows?  Lightning Longbows, Gordy Morey based in Las Vegas.

I am looking at a nice used one, but don't know anything about them.  Are they good bows, or am I better to look at something else?

I'm also considering Turkey Creek Longbows.  I won't be able to shoot either bow before buying.

I don't know anything about the lightning bows, I'm shooting and John McDonald, it's called a "big riverbows" mine is 48 # @ 28" 62 " I'm shooting a 530 Gm. arrow at 170 FPS, I'm probably a little heavy on my arrow, and only had my bow two years so I think I'm in the learning stage with mine,

The lightenings are good bows but the Creeks are excellent and Doug is a real good guy and a sponsor here.

Yes, I spoke with Doug and he's obviously a great guy to do business with, that was evident right off.  I really want to get something and not have to wait though, and ran across the reflex/deflex lightning.  It looks great, I just can't find a whole lot out about them.  Also the price for the lightning is quite a bit less than I'd pay for a new bow with the same features.

I had a lightning longbow and thought it was great.  I also went and met Gordy one time when I was in Vegas, nice guy.  The lightning was my first traditional bow and I got into that "gotta try a new bow" stage and ended up selling it to buy the new one and on and on.  I'd buy another if I found a good deal on one.  It is light in the hand, quiet and good performance.  Everybody is different but I don't think you would be disappointed.

I went ahead and grabbed this while I could.  I hope it's a good shooter.  

It's pretty much brand new, bamboo limbs with carbon facing(with snakeskin over it), and black stained bamboo on the belly. 62 inch, 53lbs.  We'll see, maybe I'll cronogragh and do a 'Product Review' when I get it and get arrows and such sorted out.

Boonedog, I had Gordy send me one for a tryout and I really liked it. I chronoed it against several bows and it was as fast as my Widow recurve. I thought that they shot great. The only problem I saw was that the wood still had a lot of pits in it. Gordy said it was a seconds bow and that a new bow would not have that. Your bow looks great enjoy it.

Anyone with a Markert Special (right hand - 64" or 66", 55# +/- @ 28") they would like to sell?

You got a fine bow there. Not many can compare performance wise. You'll like it.

lightning longbows are impossible to beat at their price.  you can get a carbon backed bamboo limbed longbow for 650 bucks and it will shoot with or out-shoot most of the self proclaimed "high end" bows out there.  i know gordy well and i shoot and hunt with mr markert (man behind the markert special)  i have shot a lot of these bows and own quite a few of them.  they are some of the best bows out there....cant go wrong with them.
