Walnut for both is good but I really like Zebrawood, Bacote or Maple. All look great but most important they perform as good as they look!

The only thing I love more than hunting is my kids. 6 boys one perfect little girl.

Cocobollo is always a winner for risers, so is zebra wood, walnut, maple, bocote, actionwood.... limbs (the working part, not the vineer), maple or bamboo/actionboo.... try doing a search for "bow woods" or something along those lines, this topic comes up quite often and there are some fantastic pictures people have posted that will get your imagination running!  Good luck.

For some reason, I prefer North American woods in my bows, so I like osage for the riser.  Several woods work well in the limbs, but yew or eastern cedar really look nice.

For looks and dark colorsI like ebony, ziricota and rosewood. For lighter woods I love tulipwood best of all.For just shooting I had just as soon have black glass and dymonwood as anything.  :)

Cocobola and osage in a riser and bamboo cores with sapelle veneers are very nice. I like Ebony and Osage as well. Shawn

Zircote,Osage and Bocote are my favorites. Followed in a close second by Cocobolo and Zebrawood, and Cocobolo and Birdseye Maple.
