I was just curious about the X-200 after picking one up the other day. Have any of you had any luck hunting with one? Whats your thoughts on this bow? Thanks!

great bow. had mine forever. good shooter. not a fancey bow like some but more than reliable.

My friend picked one up at  the swap at ETAR as his first bow. He really likes it. A great shooter and pretty quiet. As Karrow said, nothing fancy, but a good bow none the less

I'm not too concerned with it being fancy because it will be hunted and used for 3D. Has this bow fit the bill for anyone for these uses? THanks!

Martins are good bows and the model you speak of has the ability if you do, if you know what i mean. No offence intended.

Dont worry haha none taken. As far as craftsmanship and durability are they pretty sound? I dont plan on it looking too pretty in the years coming from use so it would need to hold together

I have a Damon Howatt Coronado which is just an older version of the X200 and it's one of my favorite bows! It shoots great and is whisper quiet! One of my top "go to" bows  

Do not let the bargain prices on the the X-200 fool you.  These "working man bows" are NOT junk and will hold up and shoot just as well as those bows with the fancy bells and whistles.

I've had an X-200 for many years, used for hunting and 3D, a very reliable work horse.  I liked it enough to pass it on to my son recently.

I loved my X-200 it could shoot better than I could shoot it.

I have an X-200. For me, it has the most comfortable handle of all my bows. As others have stated, not the prettiest of bows, but it really is a workhorse. One thing that I loved about the bow: since it didn't cost me an arm and a leg, I didn't baby it nor freak out whenever it got a scratch. Want to add riser inserts? No problem - you're not ruining an exotic wood riser. Want to spray paint it camo? No problem - there are no fancy limb veneers to cover up. Hell, I even took a rasp to the riser to make it more center-shot. It's like a good-ol' reliable truck.

I've had mine for years and like it a lot. It isn't fancy but it shoots straight and quiet. I'm not sure why it keeps getting listed in the catalogs as a beginner's bow, other than the price. I think it holds up well against bows 2 or 3 times the cost. It has a big fat comfortable grip that won't hurt your hand and it tunes up real easy.

if your worried about toughness... i bought mine when i was probley 18.im 26 now. shot alot. left it on the tailgate one day after shooting, and  left my house to feed some cows. lost it on a gravel road. went back when i relized what id done and it was gone. i live in a small town, 2 years later my mom came home one day with some garage sale arrows she thought i might like. they were the arrows i was shooting that day i lost the bow. long story short i went to the house where shed bought them and asked the guy. he said yeah i got the bow in the house. he gave back top me still strung with a few extra scratches. no dout in my mind it had leaned in the corner of his house for two years. i filled both my deer tags with that very bow this year.

me and that bow were meat to be together.

I have an x200 as well as the Bear Hunter, Grizzly and Magnum.  The x200 compares very well to these famous and much loved Bears.

Shot my first deer with any bow with the X200. Just handed it to a compound shooter who is interested in trad archery to "enlighten" him.

My son has one and it's a great shooter. He won 1st place at last year's 4H county shoot and placed 3rd in the state, at the 4H state shoot.
