I have a 26" draw. I hunt w/ bows made by Maddog. He has several that are designed for short draw(low brace height, very efficient). They work.
Bow lengths are 51" to 54"(mild r/d longbows) and 2 46" recurves.

I have also taken several large boars w/ them. Bow weights are 52lbs on down to 43lbs.

I do not own a hill. I have a 26 inch draw on a good day! I shoot a 56 inch recurve and a 62 inch LB. I have shot longer bows but I have a hard time huntin with them I think u will be pleased with a shorter bow! Shoot several and find the right one for u

I draw just short of 26".  I shoot a 62" Toelke Super D longbow.

Love it.  I pull 48#s at my draw. Wish I would have went a little higher, say about 52#s, but I knew I would shoot this bow for a very long time.  Still haven't gotten a shot but I have no doubt it will do the job.

I shoot 565-600 grains with CE Heritage 150s (total weight).  It's very  spine tolerant.  I shoot 175 grain WW including insert or 210 grain Razorheads including insert fine on the same shaft inside 25 yards. 3 - 5" shield feathers
62" Super D, 47#s @ 25-1/2"
58" TS Mag, 53#s @ 26"
56" Bighorn, 46#s @ 26.5"

I am a 26" draw but I'm built like a fire plug and shoot a little heavier draw.  My favorites are my Centaurs and actually prefer my 56" to my 58" triple carbon.  I have a bigger chest and the string on the 56" doesn't hit but the 58" will sometimes like to rest on my chest.

I have a 26" draw, and although I haven't had much success with trad in the hunting dept. yet I definitely like bows under 60".  I just seem to have trouble getting clearance with longer bows, but it's probably just a matter of getting used to it. . .

Threefeathers, I shoot a 25 in. draw and all my R/D are 64 in. and my wesleys are 66 and 68 in. I enjoy the stability of a longer bow. I like 48 to 52 lbs at my draw lenght and shoot 460 to 600 grn arrows for hunting. All my arrows are cedar shafts 5 to 10 lb spine over the weight of my bow at my draw lenght. My arrows fly like darts and will blow right threw a Deer. Would be nice to have a longer draw lenght, but I guess ill'/ we'll never know!My 66 in. Wesley is a string follow 52@26 and one of my best shooters with plenty of pop.If your shooting good with good arrow flight then shoot what you like.IMO

I have a 26 1/4" draw. I shoot Hill and hill type bows. Shoot Surewood arrows cut to 27"bop. I use 2 blade STOS BHs. They weigh 11 gpp. Never had a penetration problem.

I have a 26" draw on a good day, and love 64" Hills. Although my liggtest bow is 85# @ 28", and my go to bow is 115# @ 26", I have no doubt a lighter draw Hill bow with a heavy arrow and a sharp Broadhead will get it done.

Hey Stik&String, If I had your strenght I wouldn't need a bow, I would just throw the arrow threw them.

If you actually MEASURED everyone's draw with longbows, I'd guess 26" would be a very common draw.  Curves maybe another 1" or 2".

Usually, folks draw quite a bit less than they envision themselves.  No big deal, just really common.

That said, we kill a ton of animals, no problem!

That is a great point!!!

I hope to draw 25.  I do well by any standard with 52 at my short draw

I have probably a 26.5" draw and use a 50# Hoyt Buffalo with 1916 easton arrows.  I haven't shot this set up at game yet, but I think it's plenty to do the job.

it's suprising to me how many people think that they're draw is 29"--but when they draw and shoot there is 3" of arrow overhanging with 30" arrows
