I have talked about this before and I have been receiving some questions about how they are made and used.

If anyone is having finger issues shooting, this should help.

You need two nock points, one above the arrow and one below. (It's what I've done but might work with one)

Here is what's needed: strap material, glue, scissors, and a clamp.

Fit the loop to your palm.

Glue it up and clamp.

Cut to desired tab length.

Shape the end of the tab.

Finished leather palm tab

Here is how to use it:

upside down but you can still see how it works.

Like to see it in action or better pic. Never seen one before.  Very curious

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

That is neat. Should be great for anyone but especially those who may have lost strength in their fingers or experience pain when drawing with fingers.

Thanks, Mudd.. That's what I envisioned but the video made it perfectly clear !!!

I do have arthritis in my drawing hand, so far I've still been able to shoot normally but it's nice to see there's something to fall back on!

BRIARS

Thanks Mudd, nothing wrong with that, probably a better release than fingers for sure. I dont need to got there yet but if I ever need to you can bet I will give it a go. I know it will work, Cherokee shot that way back in the day.

FarmerMarley

Thanks for the vid. I have been wanting to try this for a while. I shoot with a guy that shoots this way and has been for many years. He shoots good too. I think my string arm forearm would be much more relaxed in that position.

Mudd

I found that most of the work is done by the back muscles using it.

It isn't as quiet as fingers but if the choice were..... use this or quit shooting, I'd use it.

God bless,Mudd

PS: This and my "fake front blind", my "on the bow blind", and my folding portable blind are a few things I've tried that actually work. You should see the list of things I've tried that didn't fair as well...lol

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

You learned "something" from those failures, Mudd!

Thanks Mudd, I appreciate the shared knolledge.
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

Thanks Mudd, last week I cut the end of my middle finger off just below the finger nail. It will heal but The Doc. says I will probally loose some finger strengeth. I'll probally have to try something like this.

And he told me don't even think about shooting my bow for at least 4 months. Looks like winter trad. archery leauge is cancelled .

**DONOTDELETE**

Don't they use this type of release in flight shooting?

That cracked me up seeing the first part of that video upside down...   :biglaugh:

Mudd

Doug77 (IMHO) you should at least try one before giving up shooting.

There will not be any strain on your finger whatsoever.

God bless,Mudd

PS:Kirk......I don't have a clue... shoot I thought I was the 1st person to try such a thing...lol

Very cool, is there any advantage to this style vs. fingers?

Mudd, I'll never up give my bows, I just need to give my finger some time to heal.

Oct. 1st. 2013 is a long way off and I'll be good to go by then.
