Bud B.

My youngest daughter married a fine young man who is serving his final day today, 7 Dec, on active duty as a US Marine. They were married in August of 2011 and he promptly left for Afghanistan on his second tour over there.

Today is his last day on terminal leave and tomorrow he becomes a civillian.

I think he's going to be a bowhunter also, although so far no squirrels have fallen to one of his arrows. He does shoot pretty darn good for just having started in April.

He's registered here on TG, slim_grim, but I don't think he's posted yet.

Maybe this will get him out of the shadows.

Thanks Duke for your service and thanks for taking care of my Emmy.

Congratulations, and Semper Fi Duke.  I always hate to see good Marines get out, but on the other hand it's a great thing to have served one's time honorably and bring a piece of the Marine Corps back out into the community.

Semper Fi, hate to see you leave the Corps, but civilain world needs that kind of dedication aand honor too.  You have an EGA tattooed on your soul and it will never leave you.  Hope your transition is smooth.  I would say shoot straight, but...you already know how to do that
Cast a long shadow-you may provide shade to someone who needs it.  Semper Fi

Duke,
Thanks for your service. Good luck in the civilian world. May your toughest decision on day one after you get out be what clothes to put on to go to work.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

Duke, thanks for your service and praying for your future endeavors.
Everything I have and have become is due to the Lord and his great mercy.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Ironic that it is also Pearl Harbor Day.

Salute to all vets.
