Agree with dan. Jdberry bows. Whether u want a straitend bow. Or a slight reflex/deflex. I have shot most of the models from the 2 american styles to numerous of his r/d bows. They are all awesome. Love my berrys.

I'd bet most will say a Hill. Checking that thread out that is. That thing is growing like the national debt.   :knothead:

If I could do it all over again it would be a Dwyer

Personal preference really...I like Steve Turay's bows and Vince Migliorado made me a sweet shooting Mohawk..either one of those should serve you well

I love my Dwyer, though it's an R/D.  If you want a Hill...David Miller gets my vote!  I recently got an Old Tom and can't believe the elegance and finish on it.  Always good things to be heard about Northern Mist as well.  If you want pics of a Miller I'd be happy to email some to you, send me a PM with addy if you want.

These are not "Classics" yet... but they are definitely "D" shaped NFAA/IBO regulation long bows.

Dwyer original, i have a beautiful one, the wife had made for me.

If you are looking for a one piece or two piece takedown I would go with a Mohawk. The new Tomahawk Legacy series bracies up to a true d shape but is a pretty aggresive deflex reflex bow (and by the way it is one heck of a shooter)!

Gus Delgaffo does not seem to be on the web, any info?

Herb Meland, Pronghorn Custom Bows, builds a super nice D style in 64 and 66" lengths. Sweet shooters!

The "Nighthawk", Herb Meland, Pronghorn bows. This is my 66". Very little handshock. Nice shooting bow with the classic look. Very classy bow, and a great shooter, as all Herb's bows are.

If you want a calsic D shaped bow with a hint of R/D, I think a Welte Deathwish can not be beat by any bowyer for smoothness, accuracy, fit and finish, it is a flawless bow.

If one is looking for a Hill stle longbow then ones choice is more difficult.  Perhaps Northern Mist (Steve Turay) is best with his Shelton   string follow design.  It is so smooth on both the draw and release, yet it is as fast as a back set bow ... without hand shock!  His bow is perfect in fit and finish and classically narrow limbed yet deep cored, this bow will hurl heavy arrows with surprising velocity.  All this performance and super quiet as well.  A Northern Mist Shelton is hard to beat.
