well i have a BW and have some sting noise. Not much but enough i noticed it while missing my antelope out of a blind.
Anyway i got some bow hush's and they worked a lot but my question is do i replace the spider silencers with a hush puppy or some other fur ball on the string?
The BW spiders look great, but maybe i need something else. What have you guys tried?
Will water be a problem on Hush puppies or those type silencers? Thanks for your opinions in advance.

i have rubber spiders on one string and mink on another and  bever on one more string and they all work awesome.    you could try a little bit of  scotch gard on them tha will work

Hush puppies are as good as I've found.  You have to experiment to see how much to use.

silencer placement is important too.

The virgin wool type silencers such as hush puppys have a natural water repellancy.

Is there a difference in the sound they suppress?
I guess what im asking is, Are Hush Puppies better than Beaver Balls?

I use cat whiskers myself.  I love the look of fur, but I'm going to use what works best for me.  I haven't tried the Hush Puppy silencers yet, so I can't compare how they work.

Lots of things will affect string noise--string material, number of strands, how it's made, silencer material, silencer placement, even whether or not the string is shot in.

The amount/weight of the silencer material will also affect speed, which in turn can affect arrow flight if you are borderline on spine.

I use old work boot shoe laces (the round ones)

Sometimes it's limb noise you're hearing and not string when it is a low thrumm.
