For the last two years i have been trying to get Mr. Berry to build me a stringfollow bow from a form that he has had stashed away for a long time. He has always preferred the challenge of making his more elaborate designs rather than the simple design of an american style longbow. Guess he got burnt out buildin mostly american style bows in the 80's lol.
So here it is the misty dawn, my stringfollow bowfrom JD. Berry. It is 66" 43#'S@ 28". With a fumed purple heart riser that is beautiful, with bamboo cores and awesome french maple veneers. The bow draws very smooth and shoots a 10 gpp arrow as quick as any of the style. Extremely stable and silent bow. This bow is awesome. Pics are being posted as promised. James always builds amazing bows. Love my vixen and now my misty dawn.

Oh my! Beautiful veneers and that bow looks like it belongs in Sherwood forest. What a graceful curve when drawn.

I keep looking at the J D Berry Renaissance in the classifieds. Right length, right poundage, beautiful bow. I'm hanging around the Berry web site way too much for having an empty check book.

I have had 5 berry bows and all are extraordinary. James builds an amazing r/d bow. And is a hidden gem when it comes to american style longbows.  Any bow u choose is awesome lol but i really love his 2 american style

Shawn,
I talked to James tonight and he said my Vixen should be at my house tuesday, no later than thursday next week!!!!  And do I have a good idea for my next one already.

Think Argos, built on a Viper form...........ponder the possibilities.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki
