Ive been at this for two years now, last year i missed a doe and a buck both, so this year i was out for revenge. The wife and kids were out doing the black friday shopping thing so i figured i would go hunting. I got in the stand at two and soon realized that i did not have enought clothes on, i was freezing! At 4:30 i had a doe and yearling come in and go to my right headed for the bean field up top from where i was setting, when i looked back in the direction they came from i seen the buck coming down the same trail. Instead of following the does he came straight for me, when he got to ten yards he then decided he wanted to follow the does so he then turned and was walking toward them and as soon as his head went behind this big walnut in front of me i came to full draw and waited for him to walk out. One of the does must have seen me cause they took off running and he froze in his tracks with his vitals behind the tree, i had to let down and was starting to get a little nervous. Then he turned and headed back toward me now at seven yards and i decided it was now or never, all i remember was putting tension on the string then seeing the arrow hit right where i figured his heart to be. He bucked and ran fourty yards and started to get noodle legs and ten more yards he was down. I was so excited i was shaking uncontrolably, ive never got this worked up over a deer in my life. My kids are always wanting my to shoot a deer so i called the wife and told her to get the kids and the flashlights and come help me look for my deer. Now i new exaclty where the deer was, i watched him go down, but i wanted to see how things would play out when the kids found the deer. I will never forget the look on my boys face when he found the deer, his jaw dropped open and he looked at me with big ole eyes and said dad, i see the deer! it was hilarious, i will never forget it. Today was a great day, i got my first deer and i got to get the kids involved. And im glad that i got to share it with you!

It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.
