I just picked up a 1964 Grizzly. Specs are 46#s at 28". I am drawing a little over 30"s.

Here is what I have it set at now.
8 1/8" brace height, 5/8" nock height.

I was shooting 32" 2018s with 125 tips out of my long bow well. When I shoot them out of the grizzly, it is very loud.
When I switch over to my GT Traditional 5575s, it is a lot quieter. But, I am loading them up front with 200 grain field tips to get the m to fly better.

Does anyone have some advice or direction for me?

if you like how the GT are shooting why not just shoot those?

Otherwise if you would like to shoot aluminum I would just mess around with a heavier arrow setup and that should quite your bow down.

What are you using for string silencers and for your string?

I am shooting a 1965 kodiak 50lbs @28" (my draw) my arrows are 30" 2016's with 145 grain tips. This setup is VERY quite!

The bow didnt come with a string, so I ran to the local archery shop and got a cheap endless loop dacron string. I put two small wool yarn puffs and wrapped the ends of the string with wool.
I have no problems with shooting the GTs. But, they seem stiff. I am loading them up front with alot of weight to get them to fly decent.

I guess I dont understand why my longbow (with a heavier draw) shoots the 2018s fine and quiet but the griizly wont.

I wasnt sure if my brace height is off, or if I just need a heavier arrow.

the 2018 is a stiffer arrow so it should shoot better out of a heavier bow. Its probably to stiff for your grizzly and that woul dmake it not fly very well.

For noise I dont have a grizzly so I cant say but I have my kodiak with a catwisker on each side and one of those small ruber limb saver string leech things as well. Noo wool or andthing for where the string comes in contact with the limbs. With this I dont have any issues with sound. Its about as quite of a setup as I have ever shot.

Might mess aorund with some different string silencers and where they are placed to find the sweet spot also your brace hieght will help. YOu can move your brace hieght aroudn until you find where it makes the least amount of noise then find an arrow to shot that will tune well with that brace hieght or one very close to.

Other then that IDK what else would help?

I dont think the noise is a bow noise. It almost sounds like the arrow is hitting the riser. Maybe too week?
When I use the Dynamic Spine calculator, it says I shouldnt be too far off for spine with the 2018s. But,it also says the GT5575s with 125 grain point weight should be fine. I can tell for sure that these are too stiff..

I am scratching my head? Any help would be appreciated.

Try dropping the brace.  I did this on a noisy Grizzly once and was shocked how much quieter it was.  Do something drastic like drop it down to 7 3/4 and just see.  I am not sure it will work but it did for me on a 58" Grizzly.
