The new issue of TBM showed a flu flu style I have not seen before.They claimed it has the right combo of distance and power. Does anyone know if the design is noisy in flight or have performance reports based on experience?
For those that are not familiar with the article, the design is standard 3 fletched 5 inchers,normally installed on the front half ,and then a 120 degree twist or wrap on the nock end for brakes.
I thought this design might work for waterfowl in fields with decoys.

A friend of mine did some similar to this years ago.  I think he used 5" or 5.5" sheild, 6-fletch.  Looked great in the quiver, worked just like a regular flu-flu.

Since any flu-flu uses wind resistance to slow them down, they are going to be noisy.

Made one last week and shot it today.  It works to slow down the shaft well.  My next one will not have as much "brake" as i want it to range out a little farther

did three up a few years ago but was time consuming for my fat fingers. When I want more speed/distance I make up a few standard flu flus and trim feather number and height/length till I get what I want
