Usually across my lap, but if an all day sit I use a rest from 3rd hand archery.

This is my first year using it I'm not TOTALLY sold, but I like it better than the pivoting arm that get screwed into the tree.

Fact is, there probably isn't a perfect solution.

I break off a small limb to hang it on, or use a small screw in hook.  I don't like it on my lap

Ditto lap.

In fact - this year's buck was standing right where my riser window frames in front of that first small tree.

One arrow nocked.  One in a single arrow bow quiver and the rest hung beside me (I have a side-access quiver).

I have a small hook I hang it on when I first get into the stand. Then it lay's across my lap.

With a longbow, I just slip it down in my rubber boot, you can even nap this way!!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

I install a tree step at shoulder height on the right side of the tree (standing and facing the tree that right side).  I hang the bow by the quiver with an arrow on the string.  I can pick it up without much motion.  I can also use that step when climbing into the stand... double duty.
I hang my pack on the left side of the tree so it is out of the way but handy.

I have a lone wolf belt that has accessory hooks and 2 bow hangers. Pretty handy for ground and tree.

Same here.

Sometimes in my lap and sometimes in my boot.  I usually strap a bungee cord to the tree to hang the bow on while I am peeing.

I bought one of those rubber coated bow hangers that sticks out about 6" or 8" out, and has the little support screw in hanger with 2 hooks on it. I like it because I hang my bow on it, and all my stuff immediately after pulling it all up from the ground. It goes in easy, and holds a heavy load.  I just started using it last week, and really like it after about 6 hunts.

My wife and I both have Gen I DAS risers so they have a built in system for hanging the bow in the tree. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore.

I took two office clip's, put a cord between them, clip one on coal, and other under arrow on bowstring, slip hands in pocket or glass, works good.

I buy small 3" cup hooks from the hardware store and screw them into the tree. I like to hang the bow while I get all my stuff together and situated before getting down to hunting. Trouble is I leave them in trees or drop them. I dropped one last night and forgot to retrieve it. They work well though.
