The old bow still got some life left.  Good story!

A couple more details.  Shot was 15 yards from a ladder stand.  Slight quartering away.  Hit top of right lung and center punched left lung.  Blood was never profuse but fairly easy to follow.  I had drops at first in a straight line but when I started to see splashes and a wandering trail, I knew it wouldn't be long.  Landowner had a Gator so the "drag" was an easy one up to the trail.  Especially in light of the size of the deer  :)

I bought the bow off Craigslist for $20.  A refinish job and she looks great and works pretty good too.  It's the Signature Takedown circa 1950's if I remember the research I did a while back.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

John, that is awsome. Recycling an old bow, getting you little bro involved, plus keeping the land owner involved, all makes for a great experience. Them little ones taste great and are easy to drag.
