I placed an order with them last week, I did not realize that they were out of New Jerseay.  I have tried pming and calling their number.  I realize that they may be out of pocket from the storm, but has anyone seen him on here or heard how they are doing since it hit?

I ordered a sharpening stone from them and I really need it, and understand the situation that they may be facing as I was deployed for Hurricane Katrina and saw the aftermath of what a storm like that does.  Again, not upset about the order, just wondering if everyone is ok.

Doc Nock

I've been concerned, too...been emailing, and trying to call but mailbox is "full"... that is NOT like Ron!!!

He's always been "johnny on the spot".... I've put out feelers, but not sure anyone knows just yet.

I know he has some back issues, and it's got me worried!

Jon: What stone were you looking for. I have one I never use. If it the one you need I'll send it your way.

I need a coarse stone, one big enough to use the kme on which is what I ordered from him.  I cannot get my broad heads sharp and I think it's because I do not start coarse enough.

It is going into the best part of the bow season here also guys. They might be out hunting.

With his dedication to customer there has to be something major happening or he'd be dealing with your inquiries and his voice mail box wouldn't be "FULL"...

this doesn't bode well... I'm concerned.  Jon, sent you an email... fwiw.

I share the same concerns as u doc, I know he has a great reputation on here and expect that this will be taken care of when he can.

I ordered the stone last weds, which is the same day as the hurricane hit I believe, the conformation email was sent to me, but a tracking number has not been added- or any indication that it has shipped

Canyon

Worried too... I had ordered before the storm and response and delivery were nearly immediate. I amhoping all is well and that he is back here in short order.

I'll send up a prayer that all is well with Ron and his family!

That's exactly what we need to do.  Pray that he is ok and maybe hunting somewhere if that is what he wants, but I suspect that someone would have heard from him by now

Doc Nock

I posted up a news note on Ron.

They've not had power at his shop or home since Storm Sandy hit!

Word is maybe power at the house Sunday...that'll be exactly 2 weeks.

he's making do with the wood stove, gas range and hauling water to flush toilets.  No internet. No ability to get to his voice mails on his shop's 4 answering machines (2 manual ones on each of the 2 lines, plus the phone company Voice mail back up systems).

UPS only started back into the area this Tuesday... only local mail delivery...nothing in or out.

Gads!

He apologizes to everyone when I reached him, and said he's sick over this but there is nothing he can do!  Even folks with generators are screwed as the stations can't pump gas unless you drive way out of the area! Crikey!    :knothead:

Just wanted to let everyone know that we're all fine and say a huge thank you to everyone for your payers and concerns. I'd like to give special thanks to Dock Nock for letting you all know about our situation and, another sincere thank you to Rob Di Stefano for putting the sticky thread up. We fared far better than many, many others did with this storm. Lots of trees down both here and at the shop but both structures are intact. Finally got power back here at the house Thursday night after 11 days of indoor camping (which was not nearly as bad as my buddy Dave made it sound). We have a full size propane range/oven to cook on and a woodstove for heat. No running water but we had stocked up on bottled water beforehand. We had plenty to eat and we stayed warm too. The biggest issue was having no connection to the outside world other than a battery operated radio. No TV, internet, or phone which, if it weren't for the business aspect, would not have been a big deal. Running down to the local trout steam for washing/toilet flushing water was not fun though. Water is heavy!!!

The power is back on at the shop now too (got it back there on Friday night) so we'll be playing some serious catch up this week. If you have an order in, I apologize for the lack of communication but I'll contact you and we hope to be caught up on order processing and shipping in the next couple of days. Thanks very much again to all for your thoughts, prayers, and concerns for our safety.

Ron

Ron so glad you are all okay and things are not as bad as they could have been.
Let us know when you are all caught up. Since I received the new ceramic stones I need to call for one of those special tutorials. I want my Grizzly's and Tusker's KME hunt ready.
