I am shooting two bows this fall.  A 62in Stewart Slammer. Shoots great and is quiet. And I just got a Pronghorn Takedown 66" 54lbs..shoots great, is fast, but has twang noise when arrow comes off the string.  Both bows are awesome, shoot where I look.....and both have cat wiskers for silencers....help would be appreciated.... I would probably hunt with the Pronghorn over the Stewart if I could take care of noise..

Also, how do you change brace height....just twist the string a few times and check?

My arrows are 29inch GT's 5575.....100 grain insert with 175 grain points...

If your nocks fit on the string to tight it ill make some noise, you could file your nocks out a little bit or once the string gets broke in a bit it should quiet down

Do you have the proper string for the pronghorn? If so then play with your brace height. Untwist your string to where you know it is to low then start retwisting it a twist at a time. This will eventually get you to your sweet spot. Also as stated above check for nock tightness. If they are to tight then I personally would go to a smaller diameter serving. Good Luck

I just learned how true that is this morning. I have been fighting string noise (limb slap mostly) on a home brew recurve for long enough to give up. Today, I came upon a loose nock by pure happenstance and whala... Quiet as a church mouse!
