Got a hunt in last nite, no rut activity except a broke horned 6 pt and a really energetic spike who chased every doe in Linn Co last nite!! He came by me at least a halfdozen times!

Finally I saw  a deer about 400 yds off in  a standing beanfield.  Closer look showed it to be a doe, but as I scanned the edge of the weedpatch she was by.....antlers- BIIGG ANTLERS!!  :scared:

Then he stood up and casually walked to the creek and disappeared.......

Which way would he go??
Stay sharp, Kenny.

This I found whilst sneakin to my stand 50 yds from the creek....

Then does and fawns filtered past, my perch was working the SE wind just right, after it passed me, it lifted over the creek timber. I love stands where the deer can be downwind and have no clue.....

And one of the brokeracked little buck, who gave many demonstrations on what a 1.5 yr old buck sounds like grunting.....

Looks like a mighty fine area you're hunting there. Maybe you can break Lucky Charms run of good luck. Good luck to you sir!

Good luck, thanks for sharing.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Ahh, I'm about 8 miles from Ol lucky!  I only hunt the lease a little during gun and after everyone else is done for the most part!!

As it turned out, the big 10 came out of the creek and went right across the beans in the open, guess thats how he is livin large. LOL

The other 2 bucks that showed up by him came down the beanfield along the creek, casually sniffed a couple does and eased on by me at 50 yds.

Told bro the better one could probably have tempted me to shoot, bout a 130" 8 pt. But, I'd already seen  ol Gramps out there, so I didn't try to call them in. Let them decide their destiny and they picked the right path......

Best of luck to you Kenny.  I am off until the 15th here.
I actually had a 180" class buck bed 60 yards from me two days ago and stayed bedded there for 5 1/2 hours!  The calls would get his attention, but he wouldn't come in.  He finally got up after several naps, and strolled out of my life... for that day anyway!

No more wound up than these were, I didn't wanna try callin just yet. As long as they don't know I'm around, there will be better opps to get in on em.....

BTW, my bro saw one of the others we'd like to get close to at 15 yds from his pickup, buck was under a cedar tree on a field road, thought he was invisible!! LOL

He is a 10 with twin stickers about 3-4" on both G2s that angle forward bout halfway up.....
