Any help will be greatly appreciated....

I am at the finishing stages of building my first glass bow, and dropped it on the concrete. Now I have 2 halfmoon white spots in the clear glass, about halfway up the limb on the belly and the back. The edge of the limb hit the concrete. The blemishes are about 1/8 inch wide and 3/8 long. What can I do to fix this, or is it destined for the bin? I haven't flexed the limb since. Bow will be about 50#. I must say, I almost cried, many hrs have gone into this bow already, I would hate to have to chuck it.

Thanks in advance, I will post this on Bowyers bench to.

I can't imagine the drop messing up something that wasn't already messed up.  White blems happen in clear glass a lot.  I can't imagine it is anything but that.  If the drop did cause the glass to pop lose thank the God Lord cause he just saved you one heck of a headache.  Pics would be nice but if I understand you correctly, I think it is no biggie.  Finish and enjoy.  God Bless

I'd recommend that you post this over to the "Bowyer's Bench" as there are several folks that with pictures can give you some expert advice.

Mudd got good advice there...

A bowyer I know told me whenever he gets in dings or dents from customers, he gets out the runny version super glue...tries to flex it while he lets super glue ooze into the blem.

See what the boys that do this regularly say.

Good luck!

Pretty obvious that is from a drop on concrete. I had that happen once. Got rubber matts everywhere now. It is very fixable for a bow to keep yourself and nothing wrong with that limb or the glue that caused that. Use loctite pro super glue and you may even draw the glue in with a little judicious heat but be careful to not overheat. When you superglue it squeeze thelimb between your fingers and thumb and work it to work the glue in. You may even spread it a bit with a very thin exacto knife and once the glue is in all the way clamp and let dry and you are good to go.

God bless and good luck, Steve
